Calling all Mermaids and Pirates….Leeds Waterfront Festival NEEDS YOU!

mermaid and pirate

Ahoy me hearties! Ever dreamt of being a beautiful mermaid or swash-buckling pirate? Well here’s your chance! We are looking for a fun group of Leeds folk of ALL ages to help us create a fabulous SPLASH MOB performance at this years Leeds Waterfront Festival sponsored by Housing Leeds.

You’ll get the chance to work with the creative lot at OWL Industries to create your own unique costume, learn some cool moves with the delightful dry-land mermaids at Yorkshire Life Aquatic all before setting sail across Leeds Waterfront at the festival on Saturday 28th June. Our friends at Canal Connections will help you steer your first long boat and hit the high seas (well Leeds Liverpool Canal!).

We are running creative workshops at Leeds Dock throughout June for all to create fabulous costumes and learn our easy performance moves. You can come along to all sessions, just one, or just practice at home using our fun tutorial and join us on the day!

Our first Mermaids & Pirates session will be held on 10th June at Magellan House at Leeds Dock. Just drop in any time between 1pm – 6pm to get started! We will then meet on 17th and 21st June to complete our costumes and perfect our moves….have a practice on the water (don’t worry you wont get wet!) on 25th June ready to surprise the crowds on Saturday 28th June with our fabulous performances at secret waterside locations!

Excited? We are!! For more information or to book a place for you and your family on this fun project, just email the team at LeedsWaterfrontFestival@gmail.com or call our friendly OWLs on 07709 682487.
